It would not be profitable if they allowed walk-in traffic. Guests paying to stay at the Greenbrier do not want to sit next to the local riff-raff.

To add to what you stated; the hotel will profit greatly because people will come to stay at the hotel on weekend gambling trips.

It was actually more about appeasing the local churches than the guests. They have a dress code and most of the local riff raff clean up nicely. It was presented to churches as we won't tempt the local people, but stick it to hoity toitly guests.

I was there during Thanksgiving Break. It had very nice time. I got a good discount and didn't expect it. What a nice surprise.
The casino is small and cozy, just two rooms. It's guests only which I like. It had dress code. Definitely it looks classier than Vegas.
The resort has its treasure- The Bunker, this is must see place.

What is the 'Brier doing about 'diversity?

Anybody transporting in any homeless for them? How about illegals?

Who's mowing the grass and shoveling the snow?

Let's be liberal here and do this thing right...want no segregation down at the 'Old White Plantation.

Yes-uh...Massa!

Actually two of the employees I talked to were black, and very, very satisfied. Brimming, no less.

However I don't actually see the need to p*ss all over this thread with more political b*ll****. Just sayin'...

WSS and the whole county is thrilled. Jim Justice is the best thing that's happened in a long time. Employee morale is up, everyone is pretty happy.

What does being black have to do with diversity?

I thought it was a thorough eclectic mix of cultures to benefit the community.

How many Indians, asians, Cuban, Phillipine, Puerto Rican spanish work there?

Yes, this was an ambush....and diversity? It's political....and a negative in almost every practicle sense.

It works best in theory and usually ends there. thanks, 3-run...

OK, so all you regulars were in my backyard, and not a single drop-in for coffee (I'm a bonafide coffee snob- you'll have none better) or a beer??? I can always use a hand off bearing slabs from the sawmill too, bring work gloves... oh, maybe that's why no one stops by.

Found 2 puppies on the road, dumped off... As it stands, I (we) have 3 Great Danes, a bird, a snake, a terapin, and a fish. I just couldn't leave them on the road to get hit... anyone looking for a cute mutt or two? I suspect my dog inventory just increased by 66%.
