HA HA HA really? Jake is going to be so blown away by the fact he now has a vagina and we are married... ha ha

I'm obviously gay, and really do you want me to list the instances of hatred I've experienced as a result of bigots? Anyone want to deny that? It is fairly certain I am moving after graduation. Jake is graduating this month actually but I'm getting both a secondary ed. social studies degree in addition to a BA in geography so I have to stick around a bit longer till I finish my Geo. capstone and student teaching. WV continuing to lose young college educated natives

1. I'd love to run for a public office and change things... maybe one day I'll return to WV and do just that if the political climate of the state can get over coal and conservatism. Tell me how many of those little old church ladies are going to vote for a gay Atheist man to be Governor of West Virginia?

2. As you noted, option #3 is what I'm doing. I'm confused. Its like I'm telling you I'm moving, and you respond with "well why don't you move!" That is a little redundant there ABC DOM.

3. That sucks that you think my lifestyle is "perverse". I don't really give a flying $hit.

It wasn't so much that I liked McCain that caused me to vote for him as it was that I really disliked and voted against Obama......... I used to be a registered Democrat but Bill Clinton represented something I didn't want to be associated with so I changed to Republican. BTW, I never vote a straight ticket.

Truly amazing! I watched with envy. They managed to turn W into a good ol' boy. You know, someone I could have a beer with.

BTW Jessco, I was real sorry to hear about Norma Jean. She was a good woman.

Miss Gay Pride WV 2009 is African American. I think that shows some progress.

As long as civil rights are put to a vote things aren't going to improve anywhere.

No, seriously.. Only a brainless nimrod would vote Republican if their income is anything less than middle class. Only an absolute grade-a fool would vote Republican if they earn a low-income.

And yet West Virginia went for MCCAIN, the ulta-rich guy who owns too many houses to count? West Virginia went for MCCAIN, the guy who would've probably lowered minimum wage instead of raising it like Obama did? Why?
I posed this question after the 2008 election. I was beaten violently about the head and shoulders afterward on this forum. I posted little else since.

Yesterday, the White House suggested that the payback from the Wall Street firms who were so generously bailed out by the Bush adminustration in late 2008 should go into the work stimulus fund. The biggest objector to the proposal was Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, who wanted the payback funds to go into the treasury. I know Kentucky and West Virginia are two soverign states, but they seem to vote in a block. Why did Kentucty re-elect McConnell? And why did West Virginia go for McCain?

The U.S. economy is in deep-doo-doo. We need to work togeteher.

If you have missed the news lately, here is 'whats going on:

International gangsters are setting up an international syndicate to govern the world.
They are meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark this week.

China is worried as this spells real competition for them.

What their descisions will mean is this:

More War, Poverty on a greater scale, millions more dying by genocide in third world Africian countries, Reduced living standards in higher societies, greater spread of disease, and a serious breakdown in law and order generally as civilized people begin to rebel from lack of food and services.

Governments as such...governments as have known them (with the exception of China and India) are a thing of the past.

It's not true. There are so many wealthy liberal democrats, especially in liberal areas. One of the reasons for that- they have nothing to worry, maybe feel guilty for their wealth about therefore they think about making poor people ,whom they don't know and don't respect, happier according to their standards.
This is the way revolutionaries think (Marx, Lenin, Che Guevarra etc).
Poor people, especially on welfare, vote democratic to preserve their checks.
Poor working people vote republican because they believe in 'right to pursue happiness", to be able to make more working harder without giving away money for people who don't work.
There are no direct correlation between money and party associations. It's about responsibility- why somebody should pay for me? Note, it's even not "why should I have to pay for somebody who is lazy?"
yes, Democrats are socialists nowadays. Believe me, I know what I am talking about, I grew up in the USSR.

Zea mays: You do realize that raising minimum wage actually hurts the middle class, correct?

Raising minimum wage:
• Destroys ENTRY-LEVEL jobs because businesses can no longer afford to employ “unskilled” workers at such a high rate of pay
• Demands that companies put more emphasis on qualifications and experience when hiring for those positions – Additionally, more workers apply for jobs because of the par raise incentive, which means more competition for less jobs
• Hurts businesses which harms the economy. When the minimum wage is raised, salaried & hourly employees also expect pay raises (not “wealthy” people, but the MIDDLE CLASS). They assume that since their minimum-wage colleagues received a pay increase, they should as well. They also expect the original pay differential to remain intact.
• Gives those in the middle class that didn’t receive a pay raise less buying power…Quite simply, their dollar isn’t as worth as much as it used to be
• Increases the high school dropout rate – As we know, education is an important factor in acquiring salaried positions
