One thing that has been special to the community of pure country musicians is their attitude of helping each other succeed in their business.

Many knew the hard times and struggle to 'make it. And they helped each other 'Make It..

Share....what a wonderful word. Seems so foreign today.

2Rivers, those were great vids. Interesting how Grandpa doesn't look old to me, anymore. Also interesting to watch how he moves, he was quite an entertainer, not just a picker.

This has been one of the very best threads I've ever seen on City-Data. Short but so good!

I agree it's a great thread DK, but I don't think it should be short. In case WV doesn't know it, because Mountain stage was played on NPR, NYC artsy crowd has a loyal following enough to dedicate the air time. They really love your music. I do too. Until I heard it on NPR I never heard bluegrass before.

Look what I found... Live Bands in the Mountain State
When I saw alternative bluegrass and progressive bluegrass, made me wonder what mischief these kids might be into. Maybe I should check on them or something.

My own personal favorite is Hazel Dickens, here singing a capella, almost like testifying.
