Sad reality of this SCOTUS decision...
Think Progress » Corporation Runs For Maryland Congressional Seat To Protest SCOTUS Campaign Finance Decision

So if WV'ns had their own corporation running for office, what would it's brand name be?

I think if WV'ns had only one party, it would probably be the Coal incorporated party. All other issues come second, but coal is the #1 life blood of our identity as a state, and bygummit, lets not mince words about it anymore.

Forget silly lines or unique cultural differences- WV should have a merger. It should be a band of brothers for all coal producing states to suss those tree huggers once and for good. Other annoying petty issues on the job could handily be subcontracted out to mexicans or AOLindia. No problemo. A liberal entity piling onto the republican voter registration lines... priceless!

These kids are so smart threerun. I'm glad they're awake. Let freedom ring.

Take your pick... the UMWA or Consol Energy. The result is the same either way.

blanken feller hahhahaaa.

Check out this option for clean elections happening in other states...
http://www.publicampaign.org/video
The guy I bought my house from was running for magistrate and lost. No way he could compete financially and the other candidates were lawyers with TV spots & billboards. I got here too late to do enough homework about candidates, but it would be nice if the playing field were leveled and straightforward no matter who's running.

I've only been saying it since ross perot days, but hot dayum someone has finally taken it seriously. They want to take this national. I wonder how things would have played out if DK ran with these rules instead of the old rules.

The decision was a correct one. If you allow corporations to buy your vote or allow yourself to vote for someone bought and paid for, that is your problem not the problem of those who want a free say in elections. This was not as so often stated a win for corporations. It was a win for everyone who believes in the concept of free speech. It was not just corporations speech being attacked, it was everyones. This ruling covered more than McCain Feingold but MF was one of the largest attacks on our freedoms to come along in a good while. If you are upset at politicians for being lap dogs for certain entities, vote them out don't throw out our free speech rights.

pknopp rules as they are no politician can get elected without being a courtesan to monied special interest paying their way. The money needs out of their hands once and for good. There is no politician that hasn't been paid for one way or the other, and scott brown is no exception. Free speech, and even your right to vote, has no business having a price tag attached when it comes to being represented in a government. My government is not for sale.
