id really recommend against shinnston. the town itself is dead. prescription drug abuse and meth are rampant (found a discarded meth lab on the side of the road a while back while doing adopt-a-highway). i don't see any saving graces of shinnston. bridgeport or clarksburg or slightly out of town are MUCH better options.

i wouldn't really worry about my personal safety. people tend to not be violent and crime isn't prevalent but you might end up associating with um... less than desirable characters in town at gas stations, loitering, etc.

If you are musically inclined, I'm extending an invitation to play in the Shinnston Community Band...about 95 musicans of many vocations and professions..
Our rehearsals are beginning now for the summer season and it's a lot of fun. Practice is at Lincoln High School, Tuesdays at 7 pm.
