Hi,

I am relocating to the Williamstown area...does anyone out there know the "general" price of hay in this area for square 80 lb bales of quality horse hay and what types are commonly available?

thanks

I buy good Timothy for $7.50.

Alfalfa....$10.00

You should go straight to a farmer and bypass the middleman, have him deliver to you when he cuts.

I live in Williamstown but I have no need for Hay. My friend does and he buys it direct from a farmer in Ohio. Depending on the variables he said a square 80 lb bale can be bought for $3-$4.

Now that's picked up at the farmers place yourself. Not delivered.

Thanks for the input - I appreciate it. It nice to get an "idea" of what you are going to be facing for feed cost as it can really vary from one region to another. That is a pretty fair price for Timothy, Kennedy..depending on how big the bale.

80 lb and very good...early cut with the red clover.
40/50 bales don't hurt the budget to much.
