Hi all,

We are relocating to NY and have figured out that Rye, Bronxville, Edgemont and Scarsdale have great schools and good conmute to NYC. Our daughters, 14 and 12, have intermediate Chinese so a school with a good Chinese program would be ideal. I would appreciate any advice on this. Thanks,

According to this article Mount Vernon will be adding Chinese.

But, Mount Vernon is not a preferred school district by most people's standards.

Why don't you call the schools you have in mind directly and ask.

Coober, none of them have Chinese. They all have budget issues and are cancelling / cancelled existing foreign language class, let along adding, even if they want to. Here people send their kids to Hua Xia Chinese School in Westchester Community College on Sunday morning. They also have classes for Chinese as second language if the kids cannot follow in regular classes.

Well, New Rochelle is advertising for a high school Mandarin teacher, so they must have it.

Default Chinese in Westchester

Thank you all for your replies! Not very promising, but I'll call the schools to find out the specifics.
