Hi, we're looking at some homes in Bedford Hills (that are a bit more affordable than other areas in northern Westchester). We have two young children (preschool and baby) but are looking for a town with strong schools. Is Bedford Hills a good place to raise a family? I noticed the Bedford Hills elementary school is rated lower than other Bedford elementary schools in the district on Greatschools.com, presumably because it is more diverse, so test scores are lower? Diversity doesn't bother me, but I want to make sure it is a safe, family-friendly area. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My brother has lived there for 2o years and his 3 kids all went through BHES and on to Fox Lane. Yes, it is more diverse than Lewisbror/Katonah or Chappaqua, no question. There are some real, live working class people there among the super rich and merely affluent. They thought very highly of it. It's as safe and family friendly as it gets.
