My husband works in Stamford and I commute to NYC near Grand Central. We are looking at houses in Pound Ridge. I'm thinking of driving to Stamford and take the train which has pretty good schedules. Can someone give me an insight about commuting to Stamford during rush hours?

On the two days/week I work in Stamford, I know two people who live in Pound Ridge (actually one is in the part of Stamford that is literally less than a mile from the NY border near Pound Ridge). It's fairly easy, however, you are not really going on any highways (mainly onto either Long Ridge or High Ridge Road), so it will likely take you 15-30 minutes even though it's just a few miles from Pound Ridge to the Stamford train station.

You might want to consider (just less "built up areas" though still mainly "back roads") a station on the Harlem Line to go to as well.

How is the parking situation at Stamford station? Do you need a resident parking permit or do they have meters? Thinking about the same commute as well.
