Hi all,

We've found a house in Pelham Manor that we love. We'd like to send the kids to Solomon Schechter Day School, which is located in White Plains. It seems to be about a 20-25 min drive up the Hutch. Trafficy? Problematic during morning rush hour? Any insight would be much appreciated! I posted a while ago about potential Irvington commute and thanks to many of your responses, I learned how difficult crossing 287 W to E would be on a daily basis.

There is a lot of traffic in the morning going up the Hutch. I'm not sure why. I travel south and see jams almost every day. If you left early enough, though, I'm sure that you would be fine.

You could instead go on the Cross County Parkway west to either the Bronx River Parkway or the Sprain Brook Parkway. A bit more round-about but not too out of the way. As the Bronx River (north of where the Sprain splits off from it) has traffic lights, you get some traffic there, but the Sprain is not bad at all. You sometimes see a little traffic where the Cross County exits to the Bronx River/Sprain but that's it.
