Where can I find an Indian grocer near Chappaqua? I'd like to get some beans, lentils and spices not typically available at a "regular" grocery store (e.g. A&P). Or, is there a nearby "regular" grocery store that has a really good ethnic section?

Regular stores only seem to have small texas basmati bags and packaged curry suaces. I'd alos like to find the same closer by but no dice. you might try the Korean green grocer in Mt Kisco. they have some stuff from lots of Asian countries, but not much from any specific place. There're a couple real indo-pak groceries in Elmsford on Rt 119. It isn't far, just shoot down the SMP. It might be worth the trip since that stuff doesn't spoil and you can stock up. That's what I do. don't forget the mixed pickle. Bollywood DVD's as well, to enhance your culinary experience!

Check out Little Kebab PLace in Mt. Kisco -- it's a restaurant (very good) and a little market next door.

H-Mart at Hartsdale is about 15-20 minutes away from Chappaqua. Probably the best ethnic grocery store in Westchester.

I believe it's called Westchester Grocery. It's on Commerce Street in Thornwood, near Berger Hardware. Haven't been there but it came recommended by one of my neighbors.
