No the scarsdale station is served by the harlem line and only the harlem line. The hudson line is well the hudson along the hudson riverfront. The traffic is killer so I would recommend using BX12 SBS at fordham then use 1 train at 207th street station your husband uses the express. You use the local. Look at the schedule of the metro-north

She knows that. That's why she asked how the drive was to Tarrytown or Irvington.

In any case, traffic may be bad, but I doubt it would be faster to take the Harlem Line to Fordham and then take the Bx12 to the (A) or (1). In any case, Google Maps has a function where you can see how traffic is (hover over "Satellite" and then click "Traffic"), so you can use a backup plan if necessary.

If you lived in Irvington and drove to Columbia, it would take about 40-45 minutes. You would take the Saw Mill to the henry hudson. There is minimal traffic on the Saw Mill. Taking 287/ Deegan is awful. I95/Cross Bronx is worse. I take the Saw Mill everyday and I hit very little traffic. I would look at towns on the Saw Mill.
