I searched the archives but couldn't seem to find anything on the Bronxville Manor neighborhood that's in Eastchester (with Tuckahoe schools). Does anyone have any experience with this neighborhood? We looked at a few houses there, and the neighborhood seemed very family-friendly, if not exactly convenient to the train.
I grew up very near that neighborhood, and had spent a lot of time there at friend's houses. It is quite close to the Tuckahoe schools, which are better than average though not among Westchester's elite. Despite the absence of a walkable train station, it is as pleasant a family community as you may hope to find. Safe streets, low volume traffic, lots of families with outdoor play and very neighborly feel. And, once you find your way to the train (lkely Bronxville or Tuckahoe), the trip is from ~28-35 minutes.
Best of luck with your search, whether there or elsewhere.
Thanks, TAK8. You pretty much confirmed the vibe I got when checking out places there.
Now to figure out if the train parking situation is a doable one...
