Sales job -territory would include Teaneck, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Middletown, and Peekskill. Not familiar on area, I just know its suburbia. Suggestions on where to live? Is it feasible to live in Manhattan? What is cost of living in suburbia? Any feedback would be great!

I always say if you can afford to live in Manhattan, then live in Manhattan. My other saying is, no one can afford to live in Manhattan.

You mentioned your single, so I assume you want some semblance of active night life. I think White Plains is the best you can do in that regard, if you want to stay in suburbia. Let us know where you are coming from and what your interests are. Otherwise, just pick a point in between all these towns.

I would actually live in Westchester, so that you do not have to pay city resident income tax, higher rent/mortgage for the same size house/apartment, higher groceries/household costs, and will not have to pay upwards of $400 for a garage for the car -- higher if it's a luxury car, SUV, or van. And, said garage may not be in your building, as many do not have garages, while newer buildings with garages don't tend to discount to tenants, but charge higher for in-building garage -- so there's a hassle of getting the car, etc.
