We are considering putting an offer on a house on Roaring Brook Rd in Chappaqua. We currently live in a different town and are not sure how busy that road gets. When we've looked at the house, we didn't see any cars on the road. But we've been told that it can get very busy and even backed up during in the morning and evenings. Does anyone live on or near Roaring Brook Rd or drive down it during busy times?

Roaring Brook Road is one of the few ways to get from one side of town to the other (and to/from the Saw Mill) without going through the downtown area, so it does get some congestion especially before and after school with buses on the roads, but this is no different than Quaker Road (120), Bedford Road (117), Seven Bridges Road, etc. Most of the homes are set back enough from the road that it would not cause noise or safety issues, and if you're not living on one of these main roads, chances are you have to drive on one of them to get to your street anyway. There is really no avoiding the Chappie traffic at certain times of the day . There are some lovely homes on RBR and I personally would not be discouraged from buying there due to traffic, as long as the house was set back from the street enough or fenced, to not cause concern for young children or pets, etc.
