My family and I are moving back to the area and our 7 years has Aspbergers. We are looking at maybe the North Salem School district and Lewisboro (John Jay) schools. Can anyone please let know know how their Special Ed departments are? We are looking to move up there within the next couple of months. Any information would be most helpful!!
Hi. I am curious whether you relocated to North Salem or not. I have a 6 year old with Asperger's and would be interested too in learning about the Special Education at the schools there. Let me know if you are there and what your opinion is. I hope your transition went well.
I think if your child is high functioning and may need support, you will be fine. I know a person whose child has autism (more severe) and her child attends Boces. What kind of services are you looking for? I am sure you can get a 1 on 1, OT, speech and language and things like that. I am not sure they have sensory gyms there. You would have to call and see.
