I did. Well, technically my husband did, so I'll just go ahead and blame him. I did flip through it in at CVS, but that's about it. I didn't find it terribly helpful, because like you said, I think many towns fall under each category, and this is just one groups interpretation of "best" and "worst."

From what I've gathered on this board, you really have to have your own criteria and then find the best and worst towns for you, not rely on what other people say because their interests and values could be completely different.

It's a silly notion to try to rank best places to live. Westchester has so many little villages and hamlets to choose from that there's something wonderful for everyone according to their personal values and tastes. I recently put together my own comparative chart when looking for a place to live. I did it based on schools, taxes, commute to NYC and community resources. The results were surprising to me and to my realtor. If you want to learn about a community, go to its web site, read its papers, and google their real estate sales meetings. Lots of good info there. But articles like these are downright silly. A good starting point, perhaps. But not to be taken seriously.
