I just read this post.

It is admirable that you will move for your daughter. Drugs and peer pressure are everwhere - but with smaller districts there may be more control.

I remember that Croton on the Hudson had a good rep for some different programs.

She will find her way and make better choices soon.

I have not heard that Harrison has more drinking problems than the other towns mentioned. Is that a fact?

What you need to do is scroll down the front page until you get to "Data Central" (search our databases) section. Click on that and on the next page, there is a listing for SAT scores 2006-2007, in addition to other relevant education databases for New York State.

Alternatively, within the "education" section, click on "Special Report - Our Schools, Our Money". You'll find links to SATs, Regents and other tests scores for schools in Westchester.

All high schools have "drinking problems." That is just the nature of high schools and teenagers in America.

Default Edgemont School District Boundaries?

We have heard wonderful things about the Edgemont School District and are just beginning to seriously consider moving out of the city. Can anyone tell us the general geographical boundaries of the school district? We understand it's not a town or a village and can't seem to find any maps on the internet. Thanks!

Default Annmargaret

You might have better luck starting a new thread regarding high schools that mainstream and/or the specific names of the schools.

Question Best Schools???

Posts about schools always concern me.

What makes the best school?

I am not judging, I am going to ask questions that parents/professionals should think about, draw your own conclusions.

The above post says SAT scores.

Is it more important to get a good education or do well on the SAT's?

How many of the students go on to higher education?

What percentage of the graduating students graduate college?

What kind of volunteer work or internships are offered?

Is the school in a city or area where a lot of the students have English as a second language?

How large is the School?

What kind of Advance Placement Courses are offered?

Is there a good mix of different types of people or is it homogenous?

What kind of pressure is there on the students?

What's the suicide rate?

What kind of services are there for the handicapped?

THINK ABOUT ALL OF THESE AND LOOK AROUND.

All the best!
