Crime has shot way way up in Portchester. Last month there was a random rape, a random slashing, and an abduction. There are gangs there as well now. Check out the entire area and your neighbors. There is a lot of overcrowding in houses there.

You might want to go to THE JOURNAL NEWS: LOHUD.COM and check out the forums there for more detail on Portchester

There was also a shooting a few weeks ago and a robbery with bb guns. But hasn't this just been recent, I don't see any old articles with crimes like this?

I live in Port Chester and honestly have never had a problem, but Weber Drive is considered one of the least safe areas of the village. But in general PC gets a bad rap and I think it is a pretty safe place to live.

Journal news tends to pull the articles quickly. There has been an upswing in crime and overcrowding the past few years, Port Chester used to be really great... although I just went back there a few months ago and ate at the new Sushi place they opened up in that complex by 287 and it was great

Port Chester has always had the most retarded group of politicians. They are mismanaged from the top down. The Mayor tries but has no direction or vision. The Trustees are a complete joke. Branca is in my opinion, a has been who only ran so that his son, who is the leader of the Town of Rye Conservative Party can push forward his own agenda. Terenzi and Branca seem to exist to argue with each other. Didden got elected despite sending out a racist flyer and seems to care only about himself. Brakewood does nothing other than talk for 45 minutes about absolutely nothing on each issue. Kenner appears to fall in line with the republican offerings of Terenzi, who used to be a conservative after being a republican. Wears out his welcome with each party in my opinion as if you watch him on tv, it is his way or no way. Marino is brand new and seems honest, but how much could one man do?

I won't even go into the corruption of the highway department. Problem is they finally got a good village manager, but the idiots won't let him run the place. He needs to clean house.
