Can anyone tell me the cost of leaf clearance for a season in lower Westchester?

I've got 2 acres of lawn surrounded by huge trees and it's getting at my back after doing myself the last few years. My neighbor had a gardener do some brush chipping after Sandy and that was 800 bucks!!!

Thanks.

Don't base anything on prices charged to people for clean-up from Sandy. Contact a few lawn services and have them quote you a price, if it's more than you wanted to spend say thank you and move on.

I pay $120 a month for an 8500 ft lot with no additional fall or spring cleanup and I have an uneven lot and lots of trees. It takes 2 guys about 30 minutes so that's like $30 an hour each. But mine use the backpack blowers, while I'm certain they'll use the huge push blowers for you which are far more efficient. Ask them what they are estimating time and man wise...that always keeps the honest.

I've heard neighbors say they get charged about $400 for spring and fall cleanup. I'd be surprised if anyone lets you just hire them in the fall on a monthly rate since its so much more work, but $800 sounds pretty high.

Doesn't compute. 2 acres of lawn in lower Westchester yet concerned about leaf clearance costs?

Actually yes, I am concerned. Yard work would run 10 grand a year if I paid for everything to be done.

I have a half acre with about a billion trees. Standard yard work (which I don't have time to do myself) runs $200 a month. They cut, trim, etc. but no pesticides or lime. That's extra. They do a spring clean up which is about $300 and a fall which is the same which is in lieu of the $200 not in addition.

That's the high end for this amount of property and while the company I use is generally good, they haven't touched my place in a month having become preoccupied with cleaning up storm damage for extra $.

So once I bite the bullet for a legit leaf blower, I will buy a mower then have to do it all myself.
