I am moving to NYC area with my family. I do not want to give up the suburbian lifestyle I have hear in upstate NY, I have narrowed it down to two areas, Edgecliff, in Park Hill Yonkers and Fleetwood in Mt Vernon. Please give me your recommendation?

I'd choose Fleetwood.
First off, Yonkers has a city tax you have to pay in addition to state & federal tax. Bah humbug!
Secondly, Edgecliff has nothing to offer. It's just a street in a small neighborhood. Just a few streets to the south and a few streets to the west, the neighorhoods get rough quickly. Yonkers is a large city for Westchester county and you're not going to find that area as suburban as you hoped.
Fleetwood is much nicer. Fleetwood center is cute and walkable, and is also very close to pretty Bronxville . center. It's overall more suburban in type.
However, neither city has great schools. If you have children you might want to look elsewhere or consider private schools.

I use to live near Park Hills. Not a terrible area but it's surrounded by shady areas.
Same with Fleetwood but at least Fleetwood as sustained their "safeness."
Take a look at Fleetwood.

Of the two I would go for Fleetwood. But if you're truly looking for "suburban" you may want to look at a couple of towns north of there.

Even the most "suburban" area's of the "suburbs" Mt Vernon and Yonkers, aren't quite Suburban at all.

North Fleetwood looks just like Bronxville; absolutely as beautiful as a suburb comes. Beautiful homes, giant trees.
Find a place between Devonia Ave and Laurel Ave (last street before Bronxville) in Fleetwood. The streets are lovely, tree-lined, and you don't pay Bronxville prices. You can shop in Bronxville or Fleetwood, 2 very nice and handy shopping areas.
After middle school ( try for Pennington) you'll have to send your children to a private or parochial high school.
