Well said. And, I find it very difficult that anyone who lived in the area, or in the NYC region for that matter, would have such little exposure to Jewish families to know that their religious services do not fall on the same day of the week as those of Christian faiths. Hence, they would not be at Church on a Sunday, since they were at Temple on Friday if they are religious.
Like havoc315, I saw this thread and that it was old, but I am in agreement that the record should be set straight as others attempted to do with regard to characterizations of the area. Nouveaux riches live in many communities, and even some with older money do happen to drive large SUVs and might be in the Rye area if they reside in the Rye City or Harrison or Purchase, etc. and some of them might just use them to also haul horse trailers in addition to ferrying children around town. There are many cultural groups that exist in the NYC region, including Westchester, hence why some people feel more at home in one town/village or another, but I tend not to judge someone based upon a stereotypical outward appearance, since that person unfairly characterized might just be a wonderful person if you knew them.
