I've had a hard time finding a place that sells quality seafood in the southern Hudson River part of the county (I live in Dobbs Ferry). I've always had great seafood from Port Chester Seafood and Mt. Kisco Seafood, but these are a little bit too far to drive to when I decide, on a whim, that it's a seafood kind of night. I've heard great things about Eastchester Fish Gourmet, has anyone tried it? Ultimately, though, I'd like to find something within 10 minutes or so of my location in Dobbs Ferry; does such a place exist?
I've wanted to know the same thing. Your best bet may be the fish guy at the Hastings farmers market (he may also go to other farmers markets in the area, I'm not sure. His fish is great. But I haven't found anything anything else good.
The same goes for meat - not the farmer's market, but that I haven't found anywhere good to buy meat in the lower Westchester area. Cheese as well. I've only lived in Westchester for two years, so maybe I'm a bit spoiled by living in Manhattan, and also working in Manhattan until recently. But I'm pretty surprised by what seems to be a lack of good food specialty shops in Westchester. But maybe I just haven't found the good places yet.

For meat I go to Vinny's meat market in Mamaroneck (an old school butcher's shop - only some stuff on display - most is in the back so ask for what you want). With cheeses I normally buy them on my way home from Murrays at GCT - but DeCiccos has a decent collection also (various locations in Westchester). Smoked fish products - La Maree on larchmont border - it supplies many restaurants in the city. As for fresh seafood - the options aren't great considering we're right next to the sea.... I signed up for gabethefishbabe and its working out ok. Fresh pasta and bakers ? - Many old, established mom n pop places all over.
