Midtown. Walkability is nice, but I don't really even know what that means, since none of the towns that I've seen seem "walkable" unless you count driving to the downtown area to walk around as "walkable." Roads are narrow, often with no sidewalks and very few people seemed to be walking anywhere except the downtown area. Edgemont, unless you count Scarsdale proper, seemed especially not "walkable."
I actually prefer the following communities:
Hastings/Dobbs/Irvington
Edgemont
Rye
That is based on a number of factors (many school-related). However, I'm really challenged on narrowing this down. It frankly seems like it will be driven by the house itself now. But I'd love anybody's thoughts on the topic, since it helps me with my thinking.
