What to do with a Monthly Metro-North pass I no longer need. (New Haven: for sale)

I purchased an October Metro North pass to Grand Central but I unexpectedly was offered a new job that is closer to home and won't require me to take the train. What can I do with this $249 pass that I bought? Can I get a refund from Metro North? Should I try to sell it on Craigslist?

I only used it for 9 days so I definitely did not get a savings. And what is worse, I can't even get the New Haven shutdown credit since I don't need to purchase a monthly pass for November!

Any suggestions?

It depends on the day you turn it in, plus a $10 processing fee: MNR Fares and Schedules

Alternately, you can probably try selling it for a discount on Craigslist, but you lose money each day you don't sell it. When I live on Long Island, someone put flyers up at the station to say he had a monthly for sale.
