We are considering purchasing a home in Chappaqua and are wondering if there are different areas with different reputations within the town/or that are more desirable. For example if you are west of the saw mill (close to millwood), as opposed to east of the saw mill by whippoorwill or king street. Thank you in advance for any insight!
Have you taken a drive in the areas west of the saw mill? If you did, do you believe the area looked like a ghetto?
I think the issue has less to do with reputation and more to do with infrastructure and topography. The west side is more rugged and has narrower streets. That can be a problem in times of bad weather when power lines and tree branches collapse. But if you don't mind hunkering in your house for a few days until the roads are cleared then you should have no problems.
