Looking for some advice on my relocation.
Here is my situation - I am European, in my late 30s, have a son who is graduating high school this year. Would like to move closer to NYC after he graduates.
My preference: an apartment or a condo (2+ bedrooms) to rent within walking distance to a train station (30-40 minute ride to GCS), safe (perhaps it means predominantly Caucasian?) neighborhood with some amenities (stores, restaurants, services) within 10-15 minute walk. Budget is up to $3500/month.
Can you please recommend particular neighborhoods in lower Westchester?
Thank you!

I am not going to debate political correctness of my statement.
It's unsafe for a young white woman to move into a perdominantly black neighborhood, thus my question.

have you considered Larchmont/Mamaroneck or Pelham? Those sound like the would fit what you are looking for.

But most of Westchester is mixed ,only a few areas are mostly white or Black. It does come off as abit racist , you could have said you were looking for a safe area for your budget.

Would a predominantly hispanic neighborhood be OK? And would it matter if the balance was predominantly negro vs caucasian?

Try Fleetwood in Mt. Vernon. Look near the corner of Gramatan and Broad St. Easy walk to the station, good neighborhood, lots of stores and restaurants.

Not the Fleetwood part. It's very nice.
