I just got a job in Yonkers NY and need to figure out the where to live. My day job is in marketing research but I am a rock sculptor in my free time. I need to rent. It is just me, so I am not too picky about size or looks. What I need is access to a garage or other area where I can work on my rocks - it creates a lot of dust and noise (air compressor, power saws, etc.). I also want to live near other artist. I am hoping to find something around $800 - $1,200.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you drive? If so Mount Vernon might be good. Lots of older buildings there like warehouses and factories.
