would like to be a snow bird. we love our house in northwest yonkers. have left it for a month with neighbor watching.
would like, in 2 to 3 years to be gone for 4 to 5 months during the winter.

don't see how it can be done unless you live in an apt or development where someone else takes care of the snow.

any ideas???

Default snowbird

You hit it on the head, you would sell your house, rent or buy an apt. (depending on your finances) ....and Guess what your a snow bird that simple....get up and go anytime you want.....where in yonkers do you live now.....................

Default Snow removal

There must be a company that you can pay so they remove the snow when you are away. I bet they will love to get paid a certain amount of snow plowing jobs in advance. Then have a neighboor to keep you posted on the condition and if they are doing their job so you can follow-up if they are not. It will probably be expensive but so will be trading your house for a condo and paying common charges when you are not using heat and water.
Best,

Default snowbird

we have lived in nw yonkers since 1984. have added several rooms and lots of $ to pretty much customize our house. spent some time with a real estate agent looking at what has sold in our zip and what is available.
came home and kissed the floor of our house. have since appreciated our home even more and have stopped resenting the energy that goes into being a homeowner.
am really talking about something that will not happen for another couple of years. leaning now towards seeing if we can't have both.

Finding a nice condo or co-op and buying something in FL in a couple of years makes sense.

All the best!
