Hi,
Our son is being repeatedly bullied at school and the administration/teachers continue to try to convince us and my son that these physical assaults are accidental.
Yesterday, our son was bulled down from behind by his collar and thrown to the floor while getting his lunch. Previously he was kicked in the face five times while reaching down to get something on the bus. These are only the worst of the incidents. BTW - this is 1st grade, northern westchester.
The school continues to take no action.
Can anyone recommend an attorney who has experience working similar issues in local schools? Please PM with any recommendations.
Many thanks,
Joe

Yikes. Did the school do anything? There was a kid who was bullying others on my son's bus in elementary school. When the kids complained the school put a teacher on the bus for a few weeks. It stopped the trouble for awhile. Then the kid started again and was suspended. I'm shocked any area school wouldn't react since most are so hypersensitive to bullying.
I'd google for similar situations in the area and see if any lawyers are mentioned.

No, unfortunately the school hasn't done anything at this point. As best as I can tell from speaking with other parents in similar situations is that the school takes steps to avoid anything being labeled bullying. For example, the kid wasn't tackled from behind, he was "accidentally bumped into."

I would be happy to help with this. I HATE bullying situation, and worse than that - I hate to see educators not take action. In 1982, I could understand it. But in 2014, there is no justifiable excuse for this. I have helped numerous clients in situations such as this. I would be happy to discuss it with you free of charge.
You can call me at the office or by cell. I am in trial tomorrow in Yorktown, but will be available most of the rest of the week. Here is my contact information:
