Hello,

Can anyone suggest a reputable online cost of living calculator or index? My husband and I live in South Bend, Indiana and we are thinking of moving to Yorktown Heights for his work. We are wondering the differences in cost of living- definitely housing will be dramatically different as well as taxes. We are trying to figure out how much he would need to make in Westchester to maintain our same standard of living. I tried using CNN's calculator but it doesn't list Westchester County.

Thank you!

Nassau county is roughly equivalent if not even cheaper. That says if you make $100k in south bend, the equivalent is $146k, the main difference being housing.

I generally find Westchester to be significantly more expensive than Nassau, but this of course depends on the town.
