Truthfully I like both towns from what I can remember from living in Putnam/Northern Westchester as kid. I had moved south when I was a teenager with my parents when I was 14 so it's been along time. Now that my kids are older and almost finished with high school I have seriously considered moving back.
1. Annual income is comparable to the Putnam/Norther Westchester area.
2. We're a racing family, members of the ABA, son races BMX. I know there's a track in Fleming New Jersey and Torrington Ct. We also like to hike and mountain bike, outdoorsy feel.
3. Manhattan is a wonderful place to visit and something to see, however have no interest in living or working there.
4. Wife has a degree in business management and accounting and minor in business law. She has 10 years managerial experience in retail pharmacy management. Also a board certified Cpht.
5. I'm ex-military with leadership training and industry certifications in HVAC and automotive technology. I'm also a licensed safety inspector through the Virginia Department of State Police.
Mt. Kisco reminds me of a quaint little town that's simple and down to earth. Patterson reminds me of a simple little country town that's very pretty. If you ever wanted to move back, which one would you choose?

The Mount Kisco area is nice but you are in central Westchester so its pretty expensive. Patterson is another 30 minutes up the line but you have access to major highways....(84 and 684) so you are not too remote. Patterson sounds like it may be a better fit given your interests etc.
Well thanks for your reply. I have no idea what it was that made me really like Mount Kisco but I have alwAys liked that town. Last time I was there was probably mid 1990's.
My family actually has deep roots in PAtterson. My grandparents ran Camp Herrlich on Deacon Smith Hill Road. Last time I was there was in 2012 visiting my dad. And the autumn leaves reflecting off of Lake Carmel was amazing, I didn't wAnt to leave but my house and job reside in Virginia so..
