As I've posted before, I have a little one due September 30th. I need to be out of the house I live in by late October. I currently live in Long Island looking to relocate upstate with easy/quick access to NYC. Can anyone recommend and nice apartments complexes that may be renting in a safe neighborhood with nearby stores? My budget is $1200-$1500 a month with included utilities for a 2-3 bedroom. It sounds low, but times are hard when you're lower middle working class living in NY - as I'm sure some of you may know. HELP!
That's a tough combination of needs for Westchester but I would look at buildings near the lower stations like Mt Vernon, Riverdale, Fleetwood, Pelham, Yonkers, Glenwood, New Rochelle, etc.
I'm assuming that you want somewhere safe for your upcoming child, and as the previous poster suggested: Tuckahoe, and Pelham and two great safe picks but for a 2-3 bedroom it isn't possible to get it for under $1500. I recommend upping your budget to 1800-1850, and you'll have much more of a chance for a 2 bedroom at most. Also another suggestion would be Mammaroneck, just don't rent anything west of I95 because that's when things get downhill. That part of Mammaroneck is the industrial part, and it is loaded with undocumented workers. Best of luck!
