Very Nice.. there are many historical homes in the area call the Park Hill area of Yonkers.... good choice! Great preschool in the area if your interested: thechidrensplayhouse.net! Dr. Diana Rothenberg- founder director, school open 21 years, all the residents go there
i'm glad i couldbe of assistance.... asfarassupermarkets inthe area... scarce.it's definately a "need a car" neighborhood. a lot of people go to the stew leonard'son the thruway, the a&p on mclean and central ave, or the stop andshop in cross county....there is only 1 bus there.. and it doesn't run often- like i said everyone drives
As far as Ravine ave- DON"T DO IT! notthe nicest of areas... trustme i know first hand...i lived there for years. The first block is nice... a condo, a co op bldg, and a two complex apartment buildings near the great park and very close to the Hudson river museum, not to mention the metro north stops steps away. The apartments on the first block are large and nice- have a great view of the hudson( beautiful views) but the area isn't great the next block is full of police activity- don't get me wrong- it's not where you live, but how you live, but i don't recommend it to people new to the area. I strongly believethat once yonkers completes this revitalization of the waterfront, they are going to push most of the long time residents out beecauseof the large apartments and great views and acessto the train, but today is notthat day... if you feel up to it-- go ahead and move in now, before they kick out the natives and jack up the rents!
best wishes
