Where's everyone's favorite apple picking spots? Looking for a place 30-45 min from central Westchester. We used to go to outhouse orchards every year but the last few years it has become a crazy, overcrowded and unbearable scene. (don't really like waiting on line for 45 min for a donut or paying for parking)

It would be nice to also have a hayride but great apples and low key scene are the most important to me.

Thanks

H

My absolute favorite is Fishkill Farms in Hopewell Junction. A closer runner up is Wilken's Fruit & Fir Farm in Yorktown Heights.

We've been going to Wilkins in Yorktown Heights since we were kids. Very friendly and nice orchard. Their donuts and apple cider are the bomb.

Wilkens is good, but crowded and very overpriced. I know the family well, so we go each year to make an appearance, but we don;t buy apples or pumpkins, just spend the day and buy a pie in the store before we say goodbye. We prefer Stuarts, because its far more quiet.
