Yes and no. Most of neighbors haven't changed and all - they got just worse. We've had great Irish and Indian people living next to us. The rest was terrible. Did you also live in NY?

Most houses in rural areas have septic tanks, not a big deal.

backing up to a highway is a deal breaker.

Even though the house was great, location was a deal breaker. We found something else much quieter - hopefully closing in a month or two.

BTW, the house from the original post ended up selling for $10k over asking. It's in Mamaroneck and was backing up to the NE Thruway.
