Move to Westchester near Metro North

Rosa, I agree that $1000 is low for a 1BR in Westchester. If you can up your price to $1300 you may have more options.

Check out the Westchester Board of realtors website (you don't have to be a realtor) and plug in your criteria.

There are some apartments on Tuckahoe Rd in Yonkers which are walking distance to the Tuckahoe train station. A friend of mine lived there and he was paying about $1000 for a 1BR. I would also suggest the Fleetwood section on Mount Vernon. Good Luck.

Agree.

I looked all over the place before buying (when I was just trying to rent) and believe me, even $1300 was pushing it.

Seems like $1300-1500 should be a more realistic goal for the type of place you are looking for.
