Hi there,

Are there any good schools in Yonkers?

How do I find them online? Is there a website where I can go and see school ratings?

Thanks in advance!

Greatschools.org Just enter the zip code and it will show you ratings for all the schools.

Yonkers schools are basically all magnet, due to federal desegregation order, but has two excellent public schools, Pearls Hawthorne and Yonkers High. Pearls Hawthorne grants entrance by examination, and Yonkers High is IB curriculum only.

You have to go through a lottery process and "ballot" for a school. We live two blocks from a good elementary, and didn't get in for K. DS instead got into another school not near our home with a greatschools rating of 2. We're sending him to catholic school.
