Hi!

I would like to know what the best thrift stores in Westchester are. "Best" should be a cross between consistently good merchandise, and actual thrift store prices. What are your favorite thrift shops?

If you have any suggestions in NYC as well that are really worth the trip, feel free to include

Thanks!

I wish I could tell you of some, but is miss the SA on Front St in LI, Savers on Hempstead Tpk, and Unique. I have not found anything close to them here as far as variety, quality and price. The best I know is the one up in Fishkill, but the drive is too annoying and long for what is there.

Are we talking Goodwill-esque thrift shops, or consignmnet? I noticed Tarrytown seems full of consignment shops, but they seem to be more boutique-oriented as opposed to true thrift stores.

I was at the Goodwill in Elmsford a while ago and thought the prices were relatively high and the selection was sparse, at best. That said, the last Goodwill I visited was a huge warehouse in the Midwest, so my shock may just be due to region.

I think that the distribution is quite scattered. A number of churches have thrift shops (e.g., Rye Presbyterian), and there are, as alba!ny notes, lots of little boutique-y stores.
