Does anyone know how much it costs to have a home builder build a home? Nothing too extravagant, just a normal house (3 bed, 2 bath under 2000 sq ft) but to your liking and everything new.

Looking at all these old homes that need renovations, I am wondering if it would be cheaper or the same cost to just buy a cheap property, demolish and build a new house.

Problem is you get taxed differently usually 2x what the old taxes were.

I'm building a new house In Yorktown, Colonial 3 beds, 3 baths about 525K not including the cost of the land. But if that house located in lower Westchester, could cost more .
