Hey all! Just bought a place in Hastings (we're a mid-20s couple) and am excited to be moving there as it seems to have everything we were looking for (restaurants, bars, proximity to city, culture, small-community, schools). The town seems to be on the rise with home values going up, and new businesses opening (Oyster Bar!).
The waterfront is the one part of town that I was shocked to see not be more developed. I would believe see a ton of potential (aside from MacEchron Park) to turn the southern lot into some outdoor space, as well as doing something with the warehouse. Just curious if there were any plans to fix that up. Who owns that land/building?
With the development coming in Sleepy Hollow/Ossining, and the work that was just done in Yonkers, it would seem that the conversion of these properties to be a valuable undertaking. Hoping Hastings does something similar soon!
Any tips/things that we should be excited about moving into the area would be appreciated.
