Does anyone have any first hand knowledge about the schools in Ardsley (elementary, middle and high school)? Thinking about moving there, but taxes seem higher than in other nearby Westchester towns.

Ardsley schools have a very good reputation. They are smaller than some other districts and are not pressure cookers like some others like Scarsdale. I don't think the taxes in Ardsley are any higher than any comparable area (Mount Pleasant, Dobbs, Hastings, Eastchester, Harrison for example)

We moved 1.5 yrs ago. Son is in Concord road, currently in third grade. We have had a very good experience here. Taxes are higher bc you pay school, town AND village taxes. We do get school busing, and overall its a nice community. If I ou have any specific questions let me know.

Thanks! Our son would be in third grade, too, and our daughter in kindergarten. We live in NYC now and the primary reason we're thinking of moving is for the schools, along with wanting a little more space. After considering Pelham, we really liked the vibe of Ardsley.

I moved and the next day my neighbors brought brownies... We are surrounded by jewish ppl, but also Asian, Croatian, french, etc... It is nice. We are Hispanic and have felt welcome, and our neighbors invite us to all their Jewish celebrations.

Son has needed special interventions at school to catch up and the principal gave him very personalized attention and support services. Town may be non descript but has everything you need. Best bakery in westchester, tons of sports for kids, soccer, little league, etc..., plus House of Sports is right here... Great indian take out...

We park in Scarsdale and commute to the city. Commute is very reasonable. Good luck! Are you def moving or are you considering?

We're still considering at this point. My kids really like to bike and scooter. Are there good places for that? That's one of the hard things about leaving where we are--steps away from a really great park. Also, is the thruway noise ever an issue of do you get used to it?
