Hi,
We are a family with a young daughter, we are in our late 30's, looking to eventually relocate to Westchester. We live in Brooklyn right now and have lived here for over 20 years, but want to relocate to a village or small city with good schools and a home that is within walking distance to the train back to the city (for my commute to work), to sustain my husband's small business (that will be relocating to this new town), and that has good public school options for our daughter that will be school age soon. We value walkability, safety and diversity, things that we love about our Williamsburg, Brooklyn neighborhood.
Would love to hear your ideas!
It would depend a lot on what you're willing to spend and how much house/property you want. Also the house could be close to the train, but how long of a ride to the city could you deal with?
I'd look into downtown Irvington. Parks, on the water, walk-able village with train station, and excellent schools.
