Long Hair boys haircut (live in, military, town)

Sooo... my 11 year old son, has grown alot of his hair out. At times I think it looks cool, but still its lacking. It needs some styling maybe some layering or trimming, I dont know. Im a short hair, military cut kind of guy. Where can I take him to get a trim, or layered look, keep his hair long but look "cool" too? right now it looks like bad 70's hair. We live in northern westchester, yorktown heights area. Thanks for any tips.
