we live in Ardsley and commute out of the Scarsdale station. My son's childcare is right by the train station... life was good but this time around we somehow did not get a non-resident parking permit.

We are number "1" on the waitlist... Have you ever been put on the waitlist? can you expect to reasonably be called during the semester?

if we can't secure a spot in Scarsdale, what are other parking options? Any other Ardsley residents out there? How about Hartsdale?

thanks for any helpful comments or ideas.

There is 12 hour non-permit metered parking on Scarsdale Ave. There should be a map on a scarsdale town page that shows you these non-permit spots. The non-permit spots start somewhere around the southern part of where the stores are. Even on days when I went in on the later side, I was pleasantly surprised to always find a spot. Occasionally they are blocked off for a funeral (maybe 2-3 times in over 2 years this happened to me), but other than that I never had a problem in 2.5 years. The annoying factor is standing there loading it with 20+ quarters, but it was nice to know I could always get a reasonably close spot without a parking permit.
