I am relocating to White Plains for a job and I am unfamiliar with the Westchester area. I found an apartment near the Tuckahoe metro north station and I was wondering if anyone on here knows how long it would take to drive from the Tuckahoe station to White Plains (e.g., the White Plains station). I rather drive than take the train for personal reasons. Thanks for any help.
On a bad morning you'll have a 30 minute commute max. And it's easy. The roads all have their own personalities and you'll pick them up pretty quickly.
I'd alternate between 22 or the Bronx River Parkway. 100 (Central Park Ave) looks promising on the map but it has a ton of lights and stores. And all these roads depend on the day and time...Wednesdays are usually just awful everywhere. The Bronx River Parkway is pretty and shoots right into WP, but people routinely drive 30 miles over the speed limit. Stay off the Hutchinson Parkway during peak hours...there's easier ways into White Plains.
In google maps you can put "depart at" to get an estimate for traffic at particular time of day.
