I'm looking for a house and am open to the entire metro area all the way to Stamford. Noticed a lot of FSBO in White Plains area. Was wondering why. Fewer listing agents? A trend?

Some people really do not like realtors, others appreciate the service a realtor provides. In an area where houses sell quickly, I think you are more apt to see people trying to go without a realtor. But, no, there are plenty of great realtors serving white plains.
Any movement to keep the real estate agent vultures from taking tens of thousands of dollars off each home sale would be welcome. Their cartel is ripe for disruption.

Where are you finding them?
Realtors are very helpful when it comes to selling a house. It is the 5% commission that is outrageous.
And there is always a glut of real estate agents. Low entry bar.
FSBO rarely are a good deal for either buyer or seller. To get the maximum price you have to list it on the MLS. Otherwise you severely limit your market which lowers the price you will get.
Cheaper options are to just pay a listing fee to put it on the MLS ( mlsyourway.com ). So agents can stil show it and you only pay their commission. ( so 3% instead of 6 ).

Years ago when FSBO' started the seller would offer the home at a reduced price passing on part of the savings they saved from the realtor, not any more. Now they are asking the same price and more, I have no desire to partake in a business venture worth that kind of money with a self taught home owner who's driving the sale. I want professional representation speaking for me ,.....
I had a taste of Realtors in the Westchester area when I moved in the area three years ago. If I were to buy or sell I would stay as far away from them as possible.

Wow. Which professionals do you pay without such marginalization?
There are great realtors and there are horrible realtors. Find a great realtor and work with him or her.
