I don't know anything about Wegmans, but DeCicco's certainly has a unique vibe. Expensive but generally quality stuff. The impression I get is that if you're looking for something a bit non-mainstream you have a better chance of finding it at DeCiccos than, say, Acme. Best hot food/soup/salad bar I've ever seen in a supermarket. Bakery is pretty good too.
The big attraction is the beer selection. I live pretty close to the one in Brewster. There's a tap room right in the store that has a rotating selection of craft beers on draft as well as wine. No food served at the bar but you're encouraged to bring in dinner from the supermarket section of the store or whatever. Inside the supermarket there are 2 entire aisles dedicated to beer from all over the world including a great selection of local stuff. Very well-organized, well labeled, amazing selection and if you're overwhelmed from what I understand the beer manager is super knowledgeable and will help you out no problem. Sometimes I really tend to think of it as a beer store that also happens to sell some groceries. Armonk also has a bar in the store, and I think the new one in Millwood does too.
A lot of people characterize it as being "too expensive"...which is not untrue, if I'm looking to save money I won't go there. But it's a cool store as supermarkets go, especially if you're into beer.
Love DecCicco’s. I go to the Pelham one routinely — excellent quality and selection (beer and cheese in particular), unrivaled service. Some stuff, dinner proteins in particular, are on the expensive side, but overall, great and highly recommended.
I would not characterize them as similar to Wegmans other than to say they are a higher end grocer, but otherwise they are far smaller and offer more limited products and options. Wegmans also has its own store brand of a large variety of products their fans buy in droves.
DiCicco is a nice, but expensive grocer. They usually have a nicer selection f fresh seafood than your local stop and shop or acme, but at far higher prices. I have seen basic farm raised salmon for $16.99 there and then $7.99 for simple farm raised salmon at Acme the same day. I use it when I need something special, otherwise it tends to be more expensive than whole foods or trader joes for special items. I tend to focus on those shops.

this. Wegmans is WAY cheaper, has a WAY better selection and is a MUCH more enjoyable experience.
DeCicco's is simply overpriced with a decent beer selection.
I agree with the general sentiment- DiCicco's is really nothing like Wegmans. You could shop for all of your food at a Wegmans (usually something like 30-40 aisles, double that really since they have a walking lane horizontally across the aisles), but you would have a pretty limited diet if you did all of your family's shopping at DiCicccos (maybe 8 aisles at the one nearest to me).
Also, the prices are pretty different. Wegman's is competitive with regular grocery stores, DiCiccos is quite a bit higher.
