We are exploring selling our house. We are in Westchester and would really like to minimize sales commissions. I understand the standard is 2 to 2.5% each for the sellers and for the buyers agent. How can i reduce or even eliminate this?

Bought my house from the owner. She put the word out, friend told a friend and it was done. Depends where you are.

I see FSBO listings on Zillow all the time. That's where most buyers are browsing anyway. And don't underestimate the power of a nice sign in the front yard.

Try Redfin, they charge only 1.5% as seller's agent.
