My husband and I currently live in Eastchester and have 1 child but are looking to move to have more space and privacy. Also we are Jewish and would like to live in an area with a decent sized Jewish community. We both commute into the City so from Scarsdale currently and know how convenient it is, but does anyone have any experience commuting from Purchase through the white plains station or from Rye Brook and commuting out of Portchester? Is it a pain? For those that live in Purchase, what are your thoughts on the Harrison middle and high schools? I've heard mixed things. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Commuting out of White Plains is definitely the fastest because it is express and has the most trains to NYC from Westchester- https://suburbs101.com/westchester-m...ains-to-nyc-2/
Port Chester train is slow. Even if you live in Rye Brook, I suggest driving to White Plains instead of Port Chester. It's not a bad drive.
When I lived in Rye Brook we used Rye station, but parking is the issue. If in the northern section (around Purchase), I agree White Plains makes sense. I would not think of Harrison district first if targeting a Jewish community.
